goes a long way.
What mix should I use?
A 1:2:4 mix (cement, sand, gravel) suits most garden slabs and footings. For a base that takes heavy loads, ask your supplier for a stronger mix such as C25.
Bags or ready-mix?
Bags of premix suit small jobs under about 0.5 m³. Above 1 m³, a ready-mix truck or mix-on-site lorry is usually cheaper and much quicker.
How accurate is this?
It gives a good estimate for planning and ordering. Check the coverage and sizes on the products you buy, measure carefully, and keep receipts so you can return unopened extras.
