goes a long way.
What do the traffic lights mean?
UK front-of-pack labels rate fat, saturates, sugars and salt per 100 g as green (low), amber (medium) or red (high). For example, sugar over 22.5 g per 100 g is red.
What are reference intakes?
Reference intakes are guides for an average adult: 2,000 kcal, 70 g fat, 20 g saturates, 90 g sugars, 50 g protein and 6 g salt a day.
Is this calculator for me?
It suits healthy adults planning everyday eating. It is not medical advice. If you are pregnant, under 18, or have kidney disease, diabetes or another condition, check with your GP or a registered dietitian.
